Haiti Relief Efforts
All Davie Fire Rescue stations are collection sites for donations to Haiti. In the relief effort for Haiti, the Davie Firefighter Benevolent Association in conjunction with Town of Davie will accept donations at all Davie Fire Rescue stations from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

Items that can be dropped off are: water, nonperishable foods, rice, canned goods (with pull tops or manual can openers), first aid supplies, tents, flashlights, batteries, and diapers. Please contact the American Red Cross to donate clothing. Checks will also be accepted and can be made out to Davie Firefighter Benevolent Association. This 501 nonprofit organization will donate all proceeds to the Haiti relief effort.

The Following is a list of other organizations accepting donations to assist earthquake victims in Haiti.
American Red Cross 800-RedCross or 800-257-7575 (Spanish). Online at www.redcross.org. Text “HAITI” to 90999 to make a $10 donation directly to Red Cross that will be charged directly to your cell phone bill. To send checks, mail to Red Cross, 6710 Sunrise Blvd., #111, Plantation, FL 33313, indicating “Haiti” in the memo line.

United Way of Broward County Donations can be made online at www.unitedwaybroward.org by credit card. Checks should be made payable to “United Way of Broward County—Haiti” and mailed to United Way of Broward County, Ansin Building, 1300 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316.

Salvation Army Donations can be made online at www.salvationarmyusa.org

Catholic Charities of Florida All monetary donations for victims of the Haiti Earthquake should be earmarked Haiti relief and sent to Office of the Bishop, Haiti Relief, P.O. Box 1800, Orlando, FL 32802-1800.

Other Local Opportunities to Donate
Costco is accepting donations of non-perishable items for Haiti to any area Costco location in Broward or Palm Beach counties.

Bank Atlantic’s Neighbors 4 Neighbors Disaster Relief Fund is currently accepting donations for Haiti Relief and Recovery. Information is available at cbs4.com/neighbors, or checks can be made payable to Neighbors 4 Neighbors Disaster Relief Fund and mail them to: 8900 Northwest 18th Terrace Miami, FL 33172.
 
  
Information About Family Members in Haiti
In Haiti, calls regarding the welfare of U.S. citizens can be made to the Embassy’s Consular Task Force in Port-au-Prince at 509-2229-8942, 509-2229-8089, 509-2229-8322 or 509-2229-8672.

To handle requests concerning the welfare of U.S. citizens in Haiti, the U.S. Department of State has established an e-mail address for people who are trying to contact their U.S. citizen friends and relatives in Haiti. Inquiries can be sent to Haiti-Earthquake@State.Gov and must include the following information:

The full name, date of birth and passport information (if known) of the persons in Haiti you are trying to contact. Their contact information in Haiti; telephone numbers, e-mail address, hotel name or address (if known). Your name and contact information, and your relationship to the person in Haiti (parent, spouse, friend, etc.). Any special or emergency circumstances
