TREE REMOVAL/RELOCATION PERMIT PROCEDURE
The Town of Davie has a permitting procedure for removing and relocating trees as follows:
1. Property owner obtains a tree removal permit application from the Planning and Zoning Dept. at Davie Town Hall, 6591 Orange Dr. The permit application must be completed and notarized (we have several on-site notaries).
2. Once the application has been submitted to the Town, a site visit will be scheduled to develop a relocation or canopy replacement plan which must adhere to the Town's Landscape Code. In the case of removals, new trees will need to be installed at an agreed upon site on the property to offset the amount of canopy lost due to the removal.
3. Once a plan has been agreed to by both the property owner and the Town, the property owner pays a fee to the Building Dept. and the permit is approved. The property owner will be issued a black and white Building Permit Card.
4. Once the above-listed steps have been completed, work may begin. The black and white Building Permit Card must be kept in a visible, accessible dry location on the property.
5. As soon as the work has been completed, you will need to call the Building Department (954-797-1128 or (954) 797-1129) and ask for a Tree Removal Inspection (Code S 705). Have your permit number (on your Building Permit Card) handy. Once inspected and approved, a landscape inspector will sign the Building Permit Card, completing the process.
