Burton Spiwak , Programs Specialist
Burton Spiwak has an extensive background in public service, primarily assisting families with decent, safe, and affordable housing. Prior to joining the Town’s Housing and Community Development Depart- ment, Mr. Spiwak served as a Community Development Specialist with the Broward County Office of Community Development, where he oversaw several programs under the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program. The SHIP Program is funded by a portion of the proceeds from docu- mentary stamps collected from real estate transactions, and is used to provide both rental and home- ownership housing opportunities for income-eligible individuals and families.
Burton worked with the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development for 21 years. He was also an investigator with the Bureau of Condominiums, under the State of Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation, investigating complaints alleging violation of Florida condominium law by associations.
Burton looks forward to a long and exciting career with the Town assisting with all the community development programs which the Town is engaged in to help the lower-income residents have rewarding lives and to achieve their goals.
