Is financial assistance available to help Davie residents repair their homes or make them accessible to persons with physical handicaps? |
Yes. The H & CD Department administers a deferred-grant program, which provides up to $40,000 to repair or replace leaking roofs, electrical or plumbing systems, and other improvements to bring the house up to a standard condition, or to remove physical barriers to the disabled. |
Is assistance available to mobilehome owners to repair or upgrade their structures? |
No. Unfortunately, the federal and state grant programs for home repair, exclude mobile homes, as the government does not recognize them as permanent structures. |
Does the Town offer financial assistance towards the purchase of a home? |
Yes. The Town's First-time Homebuyer Program provides up to $60,000 for downpayment or closing-cost assistance to Davie renters or mobilehome owners. |
Does the Town Provide Rental Subsidies? |
No. The Housing Voucher Choice Program (formerly known as Section 8) is administered by six (6) Public Housing Authorities in Broward. The Broward County Housing Authority can be reached at (954) 739-1114 Ext. 330. |
Are emergency funds available to help Davie residents facing eviction, foreclosure, or other economic crisis? |
Yes. The Town has three not-for-profit partners who can assist residents facing an emergency crisis. Hope Outreach Center (954) 321-0909, the EASE Foundation (954) 797-1077, and the Family Success Center (954) 985-1920. |
