Davie's Kids' Buckle Summer Rodeo Series offers an
Invitation to Two Youths who are Visually Impaired
The Davie Rodeo Association will host a Kids' Buckle Summer Rodeo Series on Wednesday nights beginning June 11th through August 13th. Registration for the Series will be held each Wednesday at 6:30pm and the cost is $11.00 per event. Kids may participate in pole bending, breakaway roping, barrel racing, team roping and more!
Two young women, who are visually impaired, will participate in this Summer Series. Tiffany Persaud is 10 years old and Keaira DeShong is 11 years old. Both ladies attend the Lighthouse of Broward. This facility teaches skills to babies, children and adults who are blind or severely visually impaired. Programs include classes in Braille, typing, orientation and mobility (safe travel skills), computers, home management and counseling. As a result of these programs, clients develop skills to successfully function with their visual loss, build self-esteem and restore their confidence so that they can lead productive, independent lives. All services are offered at no charge.
All youths wishing to participate in the series must be a member or must become a member of the Davie Rodeo Association. The cost for membership is $25.00 for a single membership or $35.00 for a family membership per year.
