The Town of Davie Special Events and Cultural Arts Department offers year round and seasonal cultural activities, special events and festivals for the entire family. Some of our annual traditional festivals include:

Trail Rides  
Join the Town of Davie and the South Florida Trail Riders for a trail ride through Davie's equestrian trail system.  Breakfast, water and a goodie bag are all included in a small fee.  You must bring your own horse!

Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Poster, Essay Contest & Picnic Celebration  
*Sunday, January 20, 2013*
Come celebrate the birthday of an American hero by participating in the picnic Celebration.  Enjoy a climbing wall, bounce house, petting farm, free lunch (while supplies last) and more!  This year's event will be on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.  If you would like to participate in the poster or essay contest, please call (954) 797-1163 for an application.

Festival Both Days

The festival will feature over 250 displays and will take place down Orange Drive from Davie Rd. west to SW 66th Terrace.  This portion of Orange Drive will be closed off during the festival.  Free activities for both days includes an arts & crafts show, fine arts show, western town, musical entertainment, Native American display, animal farm, western carriage display, commerce corner, information displays green product displays and plant give-away.  There will be a FREE concert on Saturday and Sunday!  There will also be a free kids' corner that includes a bounce house, giant slide, and climbing wall.  Admission to the festival is FREE.  If you are interested in sponsoring this year's event, click here!

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast
On Saturday, beginning at 7:00am, there will be a Pancake Breakfast at the Davie Moose Lodge, 4483 Davie Rd, Davie, put on by the Kiwanis.  Pre-sale tickets are available at the Davie Town Hall, Special Events and Cultural Arts office for $5.00.

Strawberry Shortcake Festival
On Saturday and Sunday there will be an old fashioned Strawberry Festival at the Davie Woman's Club located on Orange Drive, on the festival grounds.  Fresh strawberries and homemade shortcake will be served as well as other strawberry creations.

76th Annual Orange Blossom Parade

The parade will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and will proceed down Davie Road, between SW 39 Street, south to Orange Drive.  This Year’s Theme:  "TBA"

How to become an entry in the parade
All non-profit youth and adult groups, commercial and non-commercial businesses, musical marching and non-musical marching groups, and all school groups are invited to participate.  Click here for a Parade Application.  Parade entries are FREE.  Awards will be presented after the parade in the different mentioned categories.  


Open Farmers Market & Green Fair
Just like in the old west, purchase fresh home grown vegetables, herbs and spices, peanuts and fruits at our old fashion Farmers Market sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and the 4-H Clubs of Broward.

Free Stage Entertainment & Street Dance
Family Entertainment will take place on both days throughout the festival.  FREE street concerts on Saturday, February 23rd and Sunday, February 24th at 2:00 p.m. on the Festival Grounds.  Listen to 99.9 KISS Country for guest entertainers.

Heritage championship rodeo in the covered Davie Arena
See authentic heritage rodeo at its finest!  Be amazed as real cowboys from around the world compete for championship titles.  The Davie Pro Rodeo was voted as the best rodeo east of the Mississippi and has won numerous awards rodeoing in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Come watch cowboys and cow gals challenge 2,000 pound bulls, ride bare back, wrestle cattle, barrel race, and team rope.  The kids will love it!  The Davie Pro Rodeo will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 7:30pm, and on Sunday, February 24, at 2:00pm, in the covered Town of Davie's Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Gates open at 6:00pm to purchase tickets and so that you can come in and enjoy the food and vendors before the rodeo begins.  Advanced and Group rate tickets are available at the Special Events and Cultural Arts office located at Davie Town Hall.  Tickets are $18 and $8 (3-12) in advance and $20 and $10 (3-12) at the gate.  

Festival, Parade and Rodeo Parking will be available behind the Town Hall and can only be accessed via Davie Road.  Parking on the festival grounds is $5.00 per vehicle.

Family Bike Rally  *Saturday, April 14, 2012*
Mark your calendars for the annual Bike Rally, Saturday, April 14, 2012, a 6 mile family bicycle ride beginning and ending at Shenandoah Park.  Fun for the whole family.  Registration begins at 8:00am and the ride begins at 9:00am! Goodie bags included with small entrance fee.  Click here for an application.  Please, NO training wheels or bike tires under 24".

The International Multi-Ethnic Festival will be held in conjunction with The Spring Egg Hunt.  Our Multi-Ethnic Festival will feature diverse displays, foods, cultural entertainment, and hands on activities for the entire family.  The festival will feature cultural foods (at a cost) from around the world, music, and entertainment.  Click here for a FREE multi-ethnic booth space application or call (954) 797-1153 for information.  Other free activities will include an Animal Farm, Giant Slide, Bounce Houses, and Climbing Wall!  

16th Annual Waterway Cleanup  *Saturday, April 28, 2012*

Free for anyone wishing to clean!

The Town of Davie and the Central Broward Water Control District welcome you to participate in the 16th Annual Waterway Cleanup.  The cleanup is a public awareness campaign to keep our waterways clean.  This event will take place along the C-11 Canal.  Participants will receive a free T-shirt and water, as well as a ticket to the "Trash Splash," a pool celebration, after the cleanup, at the Pine Island Community Center.  Community service hours may be earned by individuals and groups at this event.  Call (954) 797-1153 for details.  If your group, school or family are interested in helping with this upcoming Waterway Clean-up, click here for applications.     
  

Memorial Day Ceremony & Parade  *Monday, May 28, 2012*
Memorial Day gives all patriotic Americans an opportunity to honor the sacrifices that so many devoted men and women made to keep and protect freedom at home and abroad. Join us on Memorial Day to remember our American heroes. Wear red, white and blue!  Bring your American flag!  Parade starts at 10:00 a.m. from SW 39th Street down Davie Road to the Town of Davie's Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Ceremony will begin immediately after the parade. 30th Annual Take-A-Kid Fishin' Rodeo  *Saturday, June 2, 2012*

Wolf Lake Park, 5400 S.W 76th Ave

Ages:
5 and under, 6 to 8, 9 to 12
Fee:
$9 per child, which includes bait, lunch, a goodie bag, and an event cap for the first 250 kids to register. Please bring exact change if you can.

Prizes:
Equipment like the pro’s use (rods, reels and tackle boxes) Will be awarded in all above mentioned age groups. All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.

*Wednesday, July 4, 2012*  *6:00pm - 10:00pm*
Free bounce house, climbing walls, family entertainment, demonstrations and an arts and crafts show!  Activities include live country music and Fireworks!  This event is held 6:00pm - 10:00pm, on July 4th every year.  Click here for an application.

Government Days  *Monday, October 15 - Friday, October 19, 2012*
The Florida League of Cities, an association of member municipalities throughout Florida, is sponsoring an educational program called “My city: I’m part of it; I’m proud of it.” The program is designed to educate school-aged children about city government functions.

In the spirit of the program, the Town of Davie will celebrate Florida City Government, October 15 thru October 19, 2012, by providing school-aged groups educational tours of Davie Town Hall. Tours will be conducted between 9:30a.m. and the last tour at 3:30p.m. The tours are designed to educate and to inform students about their local government. We would like to invite your school to participate in our program.

To participate, call Matthew Mlodzinski, Acting Special Events and Cultural Arts Director, no later than October 10, 2012. All groups will check in at the Town Hall, 6591 Orange Drive.

Davieween Happenings  *Sunday, October 28, 2012*
Includes a pumpkin patch, free games and prizes, a petting farm, bounce houses, climbing wall & a Halloween costume contest.  The South Florida Trail Riders will present a Halloween Horse Costume Contest.  This event will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012, from 1-4pm at Pine Island Park.

Annual Pancake Breakfast, Tack Sale and Craft Show  *Sunday, November 4, 2012*
Event will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Robbins Preserve in Davie (4005 Hiatus Rd., Davie, FL) and sponsored by the South Florida Trailriders of Broward.  This event is open to the public and gates open at 10:00am until 2:00pm.  Pancake tickets are $5.00 and include all you can eat breakfast and lunch (hot dogs and hamburgers available after 11:30am).  Register to bring new and used tack, horse related items or your homemade crafts.  Contact Carol Olson for vendor registration or information at (954) 791-7535.  Come join us for a great time and great buys!

Winter Holiday Tree, Menorah & Kinara Decorating Contest
*Wednesday, December 5, 2012
The Town of Davie is inviting your school or civic group to participate in the 24th Annual Holiday Tree, Menorah and Kinara Decorating Contest on Wednesday December 5, 2012 at the Davie Town Hall.  Decorating will begin at 9:00am with a lunch served until 1:00pm. If you are unable to decorate on Wednesday morning, your group can come to decorate anytime before Friday at Noon.  (Lunch will be served Wednesday morning ONLY)  Groups are asked to make all their own decorations, keeping to the theme; lights will be provided by the Town.  Prizes will be awarded Sunday evening at the Lighting of the Greens reception.  Check back for an application.  

*Sunday, December 9, 2012*
Voted by its residents as the best decorated city hall in Broward County!  Visit a display of thousands of lights, over 50 beautifully adorned holiday trees, menorahs, and kinaras. Free traditional refreshments, holiday magic show, and twenty tons of holiday snow. Have your picture taken with SANTA in the Council Chambers, for a small fee.  Jingle Bell Parade, put on by the South Florida Trail Riders.  Free petting farm, bounce houses, climbing walls and more!  To be a holiday sponsor or to sign up to decorate a holiday display, contact the Special Events and Cultural Arts office at (954) 797-1163.
