Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Picnic Celebration

The Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Picnic Celebration will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Potters Park, 4300 SW 57 Terrace, Davie from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. The Picnic Celebration will include youth entertainment, guest speakers, a poetry contest and kids activities including bounce houses and petting farm. The Town of Davie’s 79th Annual Orange Blossom Festival will feature a golf tournament hosted by the Davie Golf and Country Club. The 4th Annual James Pirtle Memorial Golf Classic will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016, to kick off the Festival weekend.
The format of the James Pirtle Memorial Golf Classic will be a 4-player scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Competition is open to players of all skill levels and handicaps. The tournament will award team prizes and trophies, and will feature course contests.

Orange Blossom Kick Off Concert

Join us on February 26, 2016 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm for the Orange Blossom Kick Off Concert at the Old Davie School Historical Museum, 6650 Griffin Road, Davie. Admission is FREE and there will be Arts & Craft vendors, bounce house, petting farm and food trucks. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
So bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy an evening of music.

Festival Both Days
The festival will feature over 250 displays and will take place down Orange Drive from Davie Rd. west to SW 66th Terrace. This portion of Orange Drive will be closed off during the festival. Free activities for both days includes an arts & crafts show, fine arts show, musical entertainment, "Cowboy Town", Native American display, animal farm, western carriage display, commerce corner, information displays and green product displays. There will be a FREE concert on Saturday and Sunday! There will also be a free kids' corner that includes a bounce house, giant slide, rides and climbing wall. Admission to the festival is FREE. Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast
On Saturday, beginning at 7:00am, there will be a Pancake Breakfast at the Davie Moose Lodge, 4483 Davie Rd, Davie, put on by the Kiwanis. Pre-sale tickets are available at the Davie Town Hall, Special Events and Cultural Arts office for $5.00.
Strawberry Shortcake Festival
On Saturday and Sunday there will be an old fashioned Strawberry Festival at the Davie Woman's Club located on Orange Drive, on the festival grounds. Fresh strawberries and homemade shortcake will be served as well as other strawberry creations.

Open Farmers Market & Green Fair
Just like in the old west, purchase fresh home grown vegetables, herbs and spices, peanuts and fruits at our old fashion Farmers Market sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and the 4-H Clubs of Broward.
Free Stage Entertainment & Street Dance
Family Entertainment will take place on both days throughout the festival. FREE street concerts on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on the Festival Grounds. Listen to 99.9 KISS Country for guest entertainers.
Heritage championship rodeo in the covered Bergeron Rodeo Grounds of Davie, Florida
See authentic heritage rodeo at its finest! Be amazed as real cowboys from around the world compete for championship titles. The Davie Pro Rodeo was voted as the best rodeo east of the Mississippi and has won numerous awards rodeoing in Las Vegas, Nevada. Come watch cowboys and cow gals challenge 2,000 pound bulls, ride bare back, wrestle cattle, barrel race, and team rope. The kids will love it! The Davie Pro Rodeo will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 7:30pm, and on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at 2:00pm, in the covered Bergeron Rodeo Grounds of Davie, Florida.
Gates open at 6:00pm to purchase tickets and so that you can come in and enjoy the food and vendors before the rodeo begins. Advanced and Group rate tickets are available at the Special Events and Cultural Arts office located at the Pine Island Park. Tickets are $18 and $8 (3-12) in advance and $20 and $10 (3-12) at the gate.
Festival, Parade and Rodeo Parking will be available behind the Town Hall and can only be accessed via Davie Road. Parking on the festival grounds is $5.00 per vehicle.

The Town of Davie will be hosting its “Concerts In The Park” concert series on the second Thursday of every month. The concerts will be held in the bandshell at the Old Davie School Historical Museum, beginning at 6:00 p.m. and ending at 9:00 p.m. The concerts are FREE. Event begins at 6:00 p.m. and the live music will start at 6:30 p.m. The events will include food trucks, a bounce house, petting farm, vendors and sponsor displays. Acts scheduled to perform include Shadow Creek(Country), Zero Point Zero(Classic Rock), High Tolerance(Variety) and Sekond Nature(Variety). Tast of Davie starts in September and we will be featuring a different Davie restaurant at each concert. Family Bike Ride

The Town of Davie and the Central Broward Water Control District welcome you to participate in the 20th Annual Waterway Cleanup. The cleanup is a public awareness campaign to keep our waterways clean. This event will take place along the C-11 Canal. Participants will receive a free T-shirt and water, as well as a ticket to the "Trash Splash," a pool celebration, after the cleanup, at the Pine Island Park Pool, 3800 SW 92nd Avenue, Davie.

On Saturday, April 23, 2016 the Town of Davie, partnering with Joana Bueno Productions, LLC will host the Festival of the Americas, featuring an International Rodeo & Concert at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds of Davie, Florida. This one day event will include traditional food and international vendors from countries around North, South, Central America and the Caribbean, as well as fun activities for kids, live music and an exciting International Rodeo! The Festival of the Americas will begin at 10:00am and finish at 6:00pm. The International Rodeo and Concerts will start at 6:00pm and conclude at 11:00pm. The evening events will include live musical performances, lots of food and a full night of entertaining activities. To top the evening off, there will be Professional Bullriding, featuring top international
athletes competing together and representing their countries. Following the International Rodeo, there will be a concert featuring a Brazilian country western band. Join us for this great, free family classic car event, expected to draw hundreds of visitors to Downtown Davie. This is the best covered classic car show in Florida! 100 cars will be under the covered Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Bring your pets and equines for a dress up day of fashion and fun! We will have classes for: Dogs, Cats, Farm Animals, Horses, Mini's, Donkeys, Ponies and Others. If you can dress it up, we will have a class for it. We will have 3 classes for each pet: Most Fashionable, Best Matched Pair-Pet and Handler, and Most Unusual. Plus a Best of Show Winner! Pet Fashion Show entry fee per class $10.00, you can enter one class or all three. Our open horse show will feature classes in: Halter, Showmanship, English and Western Riding, 4-H plus Time and Game Events.

GO GREEN ON THE 4TH!
Support our new Town of Davie Clothing, Shoes and Textile Recycling Program which is now underway by bringing a plastic bag or two (tied) to our big Town Independence Day Family Fun Day at Pine Island Park and drop them in the recycling truck or bins with the Town of Davie logo. This new program not only helps the Town's commitment to environmental compliance, but also will help fund local nonprofits through the Town Community Endowment Fund.
Come join the Town of Davie and the South Florida Cloggers for this annual Davie Event at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds of Davie, Florida from 11:00am - 2:00pm. Show off your singing and dancing talents by participating in the "Davie Idol" singing contest or one of the dancing or clogging demonstrations. Come for family fun and stay for a good ol' fashion country hoedown, games and entertainment! Help the South Florida Cloggers raise travel money for clogging competitions by bidding on silent auction items. The Florida League of Cities, an association of member municipalities throughout Florida, is sponsoring an educational program called “My city: I’m part of it; I’m proud of it.” The program is designed to educate school-aged children about city government functions.
In the spirit of the program, the Town of Davie will celebrate Florida City Government, October 19 thru October 23, 2015, by providing school-aged groups educational tours of Davie Town Hall. Tours will be conducted between 9:30a.m. and the last tour at 3:30p.m. The tours are designed to educate and to inform students about their local government. We would like to invite your school to participate in our program.

Decorating will begin on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 9:00am with a lunch served until 1:00pm. If you are unable to decorate on Wednesday morning, groups can come to decorate anytime before Friday, December 4th before Noon. About this Event: Bring the family out and join the Town of Davie at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds for a free holiday movie. We won’t release the name of the movie until you arrive, but we’ll give you a hint! This movie is the tale of an over-sized elf who was accidently transported in Santa’s sack to the north pole and grew up to be an adult among Santa’s elves. When he realizes he doesn’t fit in at Santa’s workshop he begins his journey to New York in search of his real family and spreads tons of holiday cheer (and chaos) along the way! Gates will open at 6pm and the movie will begin at 6:30pm and will be displayed on a 60’ blow up screen. Refreshments and snacks will be sold for a small fee. Don’t forget your blankets and chairs!
