The Town of Davie will hold registration for Youth Basketball on Monday, March 17, to Sunday, April 27, 2008, for boys and girls ages 8 to 14 years of age. Children must turn 8 years old on or before May 1, 2008. Registration forms are available on the Town’s website, at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center located at 3801 South Pine Island Road, and at the Aquatics & Fitness Center, 3800 S.W. 92 Avenue. The registration fee for Davie residents is $100 and $135 for nonresidents.
Player ratings will be held on May 10, 2008, at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center gym. Please note that black soled shoes are not permitted in the gym. The Town of Davie will provide a game uniform for each registered participant. Coaches will be provided with basketballs for all practices. Teams will practice two times per week and again on one weekend day. Teams will be selected by the coaches the week following player ratings, and practices will begin the third week in May.
All teams will practice at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center gym until the gyms at Nova High and the University School are available. The older divisions will have additional practices on the outdoor courts at the Bamford Sports Complex.
