The Town of Davie Parks & Recreation Department is proud to offer a program for veterans and their families. The Veteran’s Breakfast Program meets once a month on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center located at 3801 South Pine Island Road. This month’s meeting will be held on March 19, 2008.
The Veteran’s Breakfast Program has a guest speaker following breakfast. The speaker scheduled for March 19, will be Rasheed Oshokoya, who is a registered nurse with a masters degree in public health. Oshokoya works for VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, a pioneer and leader in the hospice movement since 1978. VITAS is headquartered in Miami, Florida. The topic Partners in Hospice Care for America’s Veterans, will inform veterans of the many benefits of services offered such as, home care, physician house visits, and social workers.
