On Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., organizers of the Davie Youth Lacrosse Foundation will be hosting the Davie Lacrosse Experience at the Bamford Sports Complex located at Pine Island Park, 3800 S.W. 92 Ave. in Davie.
Lacrosse goals will be set up on the football practice fields and loaner sticks will be available for trying out the game. Goalies will be on hand for players to try their talent at scoring. There will also be a radar gun to measure the speed of your shot. Coaches and players from high school through post-college will be on hand to demonstrate the game and to teach some of the basic skills of throwing, catching, and scooping. Video will be played showing championship college games and organizers will be there to answer questions.
Come out, and see for yourself why lacrosse is called the fastest game on two feet. The Town of Davie wants to know how many residents are interested in having the Town provide a youth lacrosse program.
