The Davie Sports Division offers a wide variety of recreational and competitive sports programs for the youth of our community. Our programs operate year round and are offered to boys and girls ages 4 1/2 through 17. The Sports Division presently offers sports programs in baseball girls softball, basketball, tackle football, flag football, cheerleading and soccer and has future programs planned in roller hockey and volleyball. The Town of Davie operates all their sports programs with a professional full time staff with an emphasis on sportsmanship fundamentals and fun.
The Town of Davie Parks and Recreation Department believes its role is to provide a comprehensive leisure services program to allow participants the chance to learn and experience the fundamentals of good sportsmanship, enhance relationship skills, and offer a place for social interaction through a wide variety of team and individual sports. The Davie Parks and Recreation Department will strive to organize and administer equitably, all youth sports programs.
OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSES
The objective and purpose of the Davie Parks and Recreation Department is to provide a learning and enjoyable experience for children through a wide variety of team and individual sports. The physical, psychological, and emotional well-being of the participant is of paramount concern.
w To provide a progression of learning from one division to the next, by altering the rules to give the players game experiences and improves their individual skills and knowledge of the activity.
w To provide a program designed to give each participant an equal opportunity from the beginning to the end of the season.
w To provide coaches and other adult leaders who will motivate all participants to learn and improve. To stimulate a higher level of self-esteem for the children involved.

Although participation in supervised athletics and activities may be one of the least hazardous in which any youth/adult will engage by its nature, participation in athletics includes a risk of injury which may range in severity from minor to long-term catastrophic. Although serious injuries are not common in supervised athletic programs, it is impossible to eliminate this risk. Participants can and have the responsibility to help reduce the chance of injury. Players must obey all safety rules, report all physical problems to their coaches, follow a proper conditioning program and inspect their own equipment daily. By registering, either youth or adult, you acknowledge you have read and understand this warning. Those who do not wish to accept the risks described in this warning should not register or participate.
