REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or G.E.D., Certification as a Police Officer by the State of Florida and possession of a valid Class “E” Florida driver’s license, at least 19 years of age, and proof of U.S. Citizenship. No internet copies will be accepted. Must provide proof of having successfully completed the Basic Motor Skills and Swimming exams administered by the
Broward Community College Criminal Justice Institute prior to any conditional offer of employment. The Basic Motor Skills test is valid for six (6) months and the Swimming test is valid indefinitely.*

The selection process will include successfully meeting the minimum requirements of each of the following: an oral assessment, background investigation, Chief’s interview(s), psychological examination, deception indicator examination(s), and a medical examination which includes a drug screening test. The applicant will be responsible for any applicable fees associated with some of the above-mentioned examinations.
PAY RANGE: $48,843.25 - $71,888.03/YR Plus Longevity (7-10 yrs $1,500/yr 11+ yrs $2,000/yr)
