Town of Davie Parks and Recreation Department Summer Camp Programs, now operated by Sunshine Child Programs, is currently accepting registrations for campers through April 18, 2008. Camp sessions begin on June 9, and end on August 15, 2008. Camps are available to Davie residents only. Children ages 6-12 years may attend and children age 5 years old are accepted with proof of kindergarten participation.
Camp brochure and registration forms will be distributed to Davie schools and will also be available at the Sunshine’s parent sign out desk between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center located at 3801 South Pine Island Road.
A public lottery drawing to determine placement in the program will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at 10 a.m., at the Davie Pine Island Multipurpose Center. Attendance is not required at the drawing. Families selected will receive a postcard in the mail. Full payment is due by May 2, 2008. Sorry, no refunds.
ADVENTURE CAMPS
Davie Pine Island Adventure Camp (100 Campers)
Shenandoah Park Adventure Camp (75 Campers)
Adventure Camp hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m., with early drop-off available at 7:30 a.m., and late pickup until 6 p.m. at no additional cost. Adventure Camp cost is $1,000 per child for a 10-week summer camp program.
SUMMER DAZE PROGRAM
Eastside Community Hall (25 Campers)
Berman Park (35 Campers)
The Community Development Block Grant Financial Assistance Program (CDBGF) will provide scholarships for 25 additional spots at Eastside and another 15 additional spots at Berman Park. For information about scholarships, please call Cheryl Winton at 954-797-1132.
Waterford Park (50 Campers)
The Park at Waverly (50 Campers)
Summer Daze Program hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m., with early drop-off available at 8:30 a.m., and late pickup until 5 p.m., at no additional cost. Summer Daze Program cost is $200 per child for a 10-week summer camp program.
